Why use serviced apartments for business travel?

Whether you need short or long-term accommodation or somewhere you can stay on a regular basis, serviced apartments have many benefits.

A generous living area

When you stay in a hotel, you’re confined to the space of your room. Whilst this is perfectly fine for a few days, if you’re away for weeks at a time or are a frequent traveller, you can start to feel a bit claustrophobic.

One of the biggest benefits of serviced apartments is that you can enjoy a much bigger living area. As well as a bedroom, you also have free reign of your own private kitchen, living area and sometimes even a garden.

Greater independence

Another advantage of serviced accommodation is that you get far more independence than you do when you stay in a hotel. With your own kitchen and cooking facilities, this means that you’re not limited to restaurant food and can eat as and when you like.

With more living space it also means that you can have guests over which is great if you have friends in the area or you and your fellow work colleagues need some additional work space.

All the luxuries of staying in a hotel

A lot of people like staying in hotels because of the extra luxuries you get. Housekeeping, a laundry service, Wi-Fi, televisions with a range of different channels and bed linen and towels.

Unbeknown to many however, you do get all of these facilities with serviced accommodation as well. Even things like day-to-day maintenance, changing light bulbs and emergency assistance are provided as and when they’re needed.

Generally, the only difference between this type of accommodation and a hotel is that you benefit from having an entire apartment rather than just a bedroom and a bathroom.

Conveniently located

The majority of serviced apartments are situated in very convenient locations. Close to local businesses, motorways, train stations, shops, bars and restaurants, everything you could possibly need is never more than a stone’s throw away.

Because so many people staying in serviced accommodation are business travellers, it means that they need to be able to carry out their everyday work but without the support of their normal office.

For this very reason, a good accommodation provider will offer facilities which enable their guests to work remotely and in an efficient and effective manner. Some of the additional business services provided can include:

  • Superfast broadband
  • Direct dial telephone
  • Designated work areas
  • Meeting room hire
  • Secretarial services
  • Fax service
  • Parcel acceptance and delivery

Shared accommodation

If you’re a frequent business traveller, being away from home for large periods of time can get lonely. For this reason, some companies offer their staff shared accommodation while they’re away. Being able to share an apartment with one or two other work colleagues can help you to feel more at home as well as ease the difficulties of being away from friends and family.
